Use of special engineering resins

In recent years, the use of engineering plastics is increasingly widespread. Engineering plastics often require special molding conditions, mold design and process debugging. Over the years in the process of developing and manufacturing products for customers, Hengtai has been exposed to a large number of engineering plastics, including polyether ether ketone (PEEK), polyetherimide (PEI), polyether sulfone (PES), nylong 66 with 30% fiberglass and 15% Teflon (Plaslube J-1/30/TF/15 PA66), and PC/ABS with zirconia ceramic composites and so on. These engineering plastics are so expensive due to importing and therefore there are many fake plastics in China's market. In order to ensure genuine raw materials, Hengtai usually purchases these engineering plastics from foreign suppliers through its sales office in the U.S. and ships them over to China.

With high temperature resistance, good mechanical performance, good self-lubricating, corrosion and chemical resistant, flame retardant, and resistant to peeling, Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) has been used in the manufacture of aircraft parts, and bearings, gaskets, seals, clutch ring gear and a variety of components in auto transmission, brakes and air conditioning systems. Not soluble almost all solvents except concentrated sulfuric acid, PEEK is also used to produce compressor valves, piston rings, seals and a variety of pump body and valve parts in chemical industry. PEEK is also currently the closest to human skeletal material and can be combined with the organic body. Therefore PEEK can replace the metal to make human bones . We have used this material to develop a product for connecting bones for a medical device company in the U.S.

With excellent thermal stability, mechanical properties, electrical insulation, radiation-resistant properties, high/low temperature resistance, wear resistance, and microwave through, Polyetherimide (PEI) is used for the manufacture of high temperature connectors, high power auto lights and indicating lights, sensors controlling vehicle  external temperature (air temperature sensor) and air and fuel mixture (effective combustion temperature sensors) and other high-temperature heat-resistant devices. Since 2004 Hengtai has been using PEI to make car engine oil pressure sensors for a U.S. automotive supplier.

Polyether sulfone (PES) has excellent heat resistance and is resistant to 150 ~ 160 ℃ hot water or steam. PES is resistant to acid-base corrosion at high temperature. We successfully produced a PES part used in a milking equipment for a company in U.S.

The nylon 66 with 30% fiber glass and 15% Teflon from TLC of U.S. is a thermoplastic with excellent lubrication, wear resistance and small coefficient of friction. Hengtai is currently making a damper insert used in computer systems with this type of nylon 66 for a U.S. company.

With excellent high toughness, high bending strength and high abrasion resistance, excellent insulation properties, and thermal expansion coefficient close to the steel, zirconia ceramic is widely used in the field of structural ceramics.

Hengtai  developed a golf putter using die casting brass insert over-molded with PC/ABS with zirconia ceramic composites .
